White glaze doesn't match; some quality issues
I have enjoyed my existing Botanic Gardens set for years. I purchased the white Harmony set to freshen up my dishes. Disappointedly, the white in the new set does not come close to the white in my existing set. I was prepared for subtle disharmony. However, the new set is a creamy white; the older set tends to be cooler in color. The effect is rather like having a 5,000 K lightbulb in proximity to a 1,200 K lightbulb. I sent an email to Portmierion customer service and I never received a response. I waited for a week and then called Customer Service and was advised I would have to pay return shipping and the new set would be full price (I got these on sale). I stared at the dishes for two weeks before deciding I would keep them. Secondly, one dinner plate has a scuff mark on the top, approximately 2" long, and deep enough for me to see and FEEL. These dishes almost look and feel like seconds. Frankly, I waited years to invest in new dishes and wish I had made a wiser choice. They aren't terrible. Just okay. I'm sad.

Versatile, Beautiful and Practical
I love these! They look beautiful on the table and lovely with all my different table linens. I wanted white dishes that would work with all the different colors of the seasons. I am thrilled with these.
