Such strength! So delicate! And beautiful too!
After purchasing a similar motif for only slightly less cost and the set lasting only a year before cracking and chipping, I turned to the web for replacements and found Spode. My mother swore by her Spode pieces, which she bought at Watt’s Tea Room in Milwaukee. Thus, I was pre-sold and didn’t hesitate. Right I was. My wife loves them! But here follows a critique.
My youngest daughter is a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and she is particularly knowledgeable about butterflies. She said the renderings of them on our bowls was excellent (high praise from her) but MUST include the scientific nomenclature. So there you go! Hire my daughter and your problem is solved.

Elegant, well made, beautiful!
I purchased this set recently. I already have a set similar to this, but we've had broken a few over time. I love the set so much that I got these. They are durable, beautifully made and elegant. They are perfect for pasta dishes, gulas with knedle, svickova and knedle, salads, and any kind of dish that requires a shallow bowl. You can use them for serving breakfasts, lunches, or slightly informal dinners. I love them!

Not happy
Three of the plates were broken I was really frustrated and upset but returning would have been a real hassle as I am not near a post office. Maybe you should use a different thpe of packing they were one on top of the other, with nothing but a thin tan colored divider between each. I ordered salad bowels.I am really disappointed I couldn't even get them back in the box they were so tightly packed. No protection.

Beautiful tropical dinnerware!
I love these gorgeous Portmeirion bowls! Size is perfect and colors are beautiful- coming from Hawaii I love the tropical flowers- especially the yellow Hibiscus, the state flower!
